Sarahs Stay
Hello there everyone I just finished my blog to treat you guys with and it crashed so I'm going to do a short almost note form version of Sarahs stay. It certainly is far from being short though.
I hope you all had a great Christmas and a fantasmo plasmo New Year. Big love all of you and I'll probably see one or two of you over the next 5 weeks when I embark on my 10000 mile journey. Wish me luck.
Sarah touched down a few minutes late but we went home and had dinner before having a quick stroll before going to bed.

The next day, Sarah got really burnt despite all my warning she was left so badly burnt we couldn't return for a few days. That evening however we did take a stroll down the beach and where I saved Sarahs Flip Flop from the roaring ocean only to get myself soaked to the bone. I was none to impressed.
We watched the sunset on day 2 from my favourite sunset spot on the corner of Copacobana and Ipanema.
We bought all the decorations for Christmas and Sarah decorated our tree in the most tacky way possible. We then went and bought a Chocolate pizza and sat people watching on the beach.
We visited Christ the next day to wish him an early happy birthday. It seems most of Rio had done the same including a bunch of wannabe monks singing in a way that made even Sarah sound good.
On wednesday I was Ill so Sarah nursed me back to health just in time to go and watch Arsenal Kids Show blackburn how to play.
Thursday was spent in the Historic centre of Rio in the rain.
Friday saw us return to the beach and Saturday was spent in the Lord Jim watching Arsenal give Spurs a lesson in how to win a north London derby... again.
That evening we went to the beach front and watched the Christmas illuminations with around 200,000 people in the lovely summer rain. The floats were of course led in by the perennial South American sponsor of everything, Coca Cola. It was done so in the form of Coca-Cola trucks which many people say is the true sign of it being Christmas time. To these people I say, you truly are a massive bunch of cunts it's Christmas on the 25th of December, not before not after so keep your fucking Christmas songs and festive cheer until then.
Sunday was another day on the beach unsurprisingly with so few days left until both Sarah and I left it really had become the number one priority to get as much sun as possible, If I get skin cancer it's my own fault and I give each and everyone of you the go ahead to say I told you so.
Monday however was a little more glum so we spent time wandering around. Sarah suggested we go to the beach for the sun set. I laughed and said what sun. She however twisted my arm. I am really glad she did we saw what can only be described as the most vibrant sunset EVER. The sky whole was filled with vibrant purples and oranges.
Tuesday was Christmas day and Sarah woke up to a walking sock/stocking and we opened our pressies and went down to the beach with a bottle of Champagne. In all the excitement Sarah forgot to cream up her face and was left pissed and looking like one of the prawns sold on the beach. Dinner was cooked by Sarahs fair hand and then thrown up by her fair mouth later when she accepted the challenge of eating a tea spoon of rock salt. My slab of butter was a lot easier to digest. We watched the sunset on the beach and retired to bed.
Boxing day was spent watching the sunset on sugar loaf. Which was a pleasure as it has been on my previous 2 visits.
Thursday was again spent in the beach in the scorching 37 degree heat. For once Sarah didn't end up looking like the proverbial brit abroard.
We went to the Botanic Garden on friday and got ripped off for some terrible food and wandered around the 5000 varieties of seemingly only green plants. That evening we went to Lapa. We got very very very drunk and returned home just in time for the sunrise. Sarah did some expert bartering in Lapa and got an item down by 30$R which i was pretty impressed with to be honest.
On Saturday we went to the beach again. My good friend and servant Tony gave me a bucket of water to gently pour over Sarah to cool her down. I took this the wrong way and just threw it in her face which caused me to laugh for almost 3 minutes. I'm such a shit head.
That night it was again Sarahs turn to cook so she took me out to TGI's. The food wasn't great so I took half of my sandwich away with me to give to a poor homeless kid. We wandered the streets for a wee while unable to find a homeless person. Sarah kept asking if this and that person were homeless. She eventually became frustrated and said. "Well how are you supposed to know which are homeless, they should be made to wear stickers." Class!
Monday and Tuesday were spent topping up Sarahs tan.
Then it had arrived the night I had been waiting for for 6 months. The second biggest event in the Rio calender. New Year. It was a truly amazing sight watching hundreds of thousands of people walking past my apartment dressed all in white. It was about 31 degrees from 10 onwards but the heat was increased somewhat by the 2 million plus people ramming the streets and countless hot food stands. One of which I had to frequent due to my ridiculously empty stomach. I decided upon what appeared to be something like a rat on a stick, it was delicious. At about 23:00 we decided to push our way down the beach to the shore. We were at the front for a wee while until a few people pushed past us, I was a bit annoyed at first until I realise I could just trip them over or hold one of them back from the rest of the group by means of revenge. I really am an evil spiteful bastard.
I was constantly checking the countdown clock then at 90 seconds to midnight the Fireworks started going off. It was truly by far and away the most amazing fireworks display I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Fireworks I'd never seen before and a constant barrage of bangs pops and light it was simply incredible. We watched the Sunrise and retired to bed. It was a fucking fantastic night. I'll never forget those fireworks. Simply amazing.
I was sad on the 1st of January because it now meant I had nothing to look forward to before I left.
We spent Sarahs last few days on the beach topping up tans.
Right guys I'm off to sort myself out.

Love y'all
