We stopped off for a couple of days in Oslo on the way up to Svalbard. We only had time to see the main sights within walking distance of the city centre and a couple of hours boat trip in the fjords but we really enjoyed it. We had a lovely sunny day on the first day for our walking tour around. After quickly dismissing the tourist traps in the main street we found a nice cafe populated with locals for dinner called Cafe Skansen. It was so good that we dismissed yet more tourist traps by the water on the second night and went back there again!
It's a lovely place and well worth coming too. If you're temped though, bear in mind the stories are all true, it really is bloody expensive.
