So, we've been pretty slack updating this the past couple of weeks. It didn't take long to slip! Here goes - update for where we are and we'll try to back fill a little bit with photos etc..

We are staying at our friend's apartment on the Upper West Side in New York. We've been here 2 days so far. The first day we had a bit of a wander around the local area and ended up all the way down to Times Square 30 odd blocks south. Yesterday we went down to the 20s and 30s - spent some money in a camera shop, huge place - geek central! Walked down to see the flat iron building - tallest building in the world in 1903 apparently then did the usual touristy thing and went up the empire state.

A friend here in NY helped us to get tickets to a baseball game last night Atop the Empire State

. However at 6pm when we left to head down to the Subway it had been raining for 3hrs and things didn't look good. Got to Yankees Stadium, had to leave again and deposit a backpack somewhere for safekeeping as we weren't allowed to bring it in. Got back to the stadium again and, predictably there was nothing doing. 'Kick off' was supposed to be 7.05pm .. we waited around and then at about 9.10 when we had all but given up hope, Natasha had turned blue, and were on the verge of leaving they announced the game would start at 9.40pm - we were very suprised this meant it wouldn't end 'till around 1am! Back to the help desk on the ground floor to see if they could make the bag minding service stay open past their closing time of 11pm - they could. And so after a bit of a palava we got to see the game. And it was GOOD - we were pleasantly suprised. The Yankees were playing Oakland and Oakland took an early lead 3-0 after the first 4 innings but then NY stormed back to a 6-3 victory.

That's it we're off out now for a wander around Greenwich Village before we meet up with frriends for dinner.
