Sung Jae was on time. And there were no misunderstandings today.
"I've never been to Ansan before," he said.
"Then this is the first Korean town I know better than you do," I laughed.
Since it was so, we settled for another random walk around town. We first headed in the Hwarang Public Park direction, but soon our feet took us elsewhere and we found ourselves in an entirely different park. I don't know its name and it may have been Ansan City Park, but I can't claim for sure as we had no city map on us and relied only on my knowledge of the surroundings. It is true my sense of orientation is not bad, but it doesn not mean I know the name of a place unless I check it somewhere previously. But the two of us didn't care much. We obviously considered the time we were spending together pleasant, we had enough talking subjects, and Sung Jae also wanted me to try to guide him by unhypnotic regression to some of his past lives. So we planned no sighseeing anyway.
However, regression didn't work out. First, there were people around us. Not too often, but still. Second, much as it was soft, the grass was no bed after all. And third, it was windy and cool at times so Sung Jae couldn't fully relax. That was why we stopped with it after a while. Instead, we headed back downtown. For some unexplicable reason my right knee started to hurt. I tried to pay no attention to it. It would be of no use anyway. I just sought to find a way of straining my leg as little as possible and that was all.
Once back downtown, we found a pizzeria where we decided to eat. Waiting for pizza, we talked and it caught attention of a young girl who was working there as a waitress. She started chatting with Sung Jae, explaining him that next week she was going to Australia and that there she would spend one year and learn English. Then she would go away to only return later and chat again and several times over like that.
"The girl likes you," I told him.
"She told me she would go to Australia next week," and then he recounted whatever she had told him about herself.
"OK. But she still likes you. That's obvious."
When it was time for us to leave Ansan and go to Seoul, my knee was already quite swollen. But what could I do? Nothing except hope that it would be better until tomorrow. And also, Su Yeon was waiting for me.
