We stayed here for a week just outside Baton Rouge.  We got the 90,000 mile service done on the truck and had a rental car for a day which we used to go view Plantations in the area.  We took a tour of Antebellum Oak Alley Plantation which was very interesting.  The old live oak trees which line the drive were beautiful.  We had lunch at the plantation restaurant.  One day Patti drive us to New Orleans and through the French Quarter in the truck!  There were thousands of people in the French Quarter and getting our large truck through the narrow streets was a challenge, but Patti did an amazing job!  New Orleans in general looked pretty shabby to us.  Some of the shabbiness was due to Katrina, but some of it was just beat up and run down.  We did see a few areas with very nice old houses.  They were starting to get ready for Mardi Gras while we were there.

There were two swans on the lake at the RV park, which JP made friends with.  JP also got a haircut while we were there.
