We left Flagstaff and drove to the Petrified Forest National park where we got in for free, thanks to my old guy national parks senior pass!  We entered the park at the south western entrance and watched a movie about the formation of the petrified forest.  We walked a few trails and were amazed to learn that people steal the petrified wood from the park. ( I think they said they lose a ton of petrified wood every month)  We drove the loop and returned to the interstate and continued to Gallup, NM.  We arrived in Gallup around 7PM and I expected to have to do an after hours registration, but the guy was still in the office.  He offered us a site for $20 cash which we were very happy to do.

Monday we drove to Rio Rancho NM and put the trailer in Coronado State Campground.  Coronado has really great rates (weekly $18 per day ) but they only have electricity and water.  They do have a dump site, but no internet and no cable.
