OK so i have finally left Hanoi and i can recommend one thing about Hanoi that would be where to stay, Hanoi backpackers is run by an Ozzy that goes by the name of Mick who will go out of his way to help you out, plus the beds are amazingly soft, you could easily loose a day in one of those beds which i have to say i almost done after a big night on beer hoi, oh i guess i should say what beer hoi is, well it is a local made beer and when i say local i mean local they make it in the back rooms and it only costs a mere 2/4000 Dong, I think that works out to about 3/7p, so as you can imagine you can get easily carried away with prices like those.

Goodbyes out the way me and the ever so cool James E Morrow, Kate and carolin jumped on a local bus heading for a little place called Da Nang. We arrive in Da Nang and apart from the normal touts trying to get you to go to there hostels, it seemed like a ghost town, we managed to find a nice hostel right next to the train station which is good as i would be catching the train back to Hanoi in a couple of days before getting another bus to Hai Phong airport.

We woke up and after some nice-ish banana pancakes headed of to Cuc Phunong national park, where they have an endangered primate (monkeys for you stupid people out there) rescue center, and after a visit to Hanoi's every own circus where you could see the monkeys were very badly treated I wanted to give something back to the little guy. It was nice to see the other side of Vietnamese people and see them helping the animals not exploiting them. We were shown around by one of the keepers and told about the 15 different species and subspecies of Gibbons and Languor's on the site.

We stopped for a spot of lunch before making our way up and down hundreds and hundreds of steps to see a thousand year old tree, was it worth it well, I guess you don't get to see a thousand year old tree every day but a ski lift wouldn't go a miss.
