Back to Rotorua today to see what we missed.

First stop was Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland.
Really colourful natural volcanic area, Lady Knox Geyser went off at 10:15, thought it was odd that it happens at the same time everyday until we saw the guy adding soap powder to disturb it.
Amazing to see all the colourful lakes and huge volcanic craters.

Drove through the Waimangu Volcanic Valley, steam was coming out of the ground which was strange to see, visited the hot pools as well as Blue Lake & Green Lake.

Arrived at the Hotel to find they had hot pools, that is where we spent the rest of the afternoon.
The Hotel itself was very interesting, they are trying to keep it looking as it did in the 1800's it was a bit like stepping into your grandmas bedroom, lots of character and staff were lovely.

Met Emmett and his Dad Mike for dinner, (we know Emmett from Jersey, he and his family now live in Auckland) after a few beers we went to the place where you cook your own food on hot stones. Had a few after dinner drinks back at the hotel while Mike kept us entertained with his stories.
Great to see Emmett again to catch up.

On now to Nelson...
