We booked our next greyound bus south to Townsville (Townsvilles the next major town - and is the gateway to  a place called Magnetic Island).

We decided to stop off at a place called Ingham to see what the smaller town's there like again, we were told not to bother cause it was full of inbreads and hillbillys but it wasnt at all - everyone was really nice and were happy to talk to us. I guess cause it's a small town not many travellers pass through so they're more than happy to help out.

I had massive bites on my legs and wondered what they were from so went to a pharmacist to see if they knew what they were. At rafting there's a fly called a March Fly that lands on u - They look like blue bottles, probably a little bit bigger. But the only difference is that they bite. I was wafting them away from me when I was rafting and the Instructor said "There's no point waving them away, they want your blood!!!" :-(.

But turns out they weren't March fly bites they were Sand Fly ones, they do the same thing but they're smaller and live anywhere near beaches etc - i read somewhere they hide in the sand so if ur not covered they'll bite u anywhere. The bites look like small rashes (i'll post a picture :-S).

So anyway after we had a wuick look around Ingham it was time to get back on the Greyhound and go to Townsville. Aunty Liz helped us find a hostel because we didn't know any numbers for hostels and the numbers we did have either didn't work or they were fully booked. Luckily the first number Aunty Liz gave us worked and we got given a 2 bed room rather than a 8 bed dorm for the same price! lucky eh. We arrived in Townsville at about 8.00pm so didn't do much. Our friends were still in Cairns at this point for some reason :-S but were startin to plan there way down, we're plannin on meetin them at Magnetic island!
