Ok we went waterrafting in a pace called Tully - its mainly in the country (forrests and rivers and banana farms mainly) but it's claim to fame (for us brits anyway) is that it's where I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here is filmed!
Rafting itself was fantastic there's 6 ppl in a raft plus the leader who actually knows what his doing.. we managed to get an old guy with grey dreads and had to listen to him tell us that he has no teeth at the front of his mouth cause a girl wasnt holding the paddle propperly and managed to hit him in the mouth and take out his teeth.. ouch.. no pressure there then :-o. It really was fun i thought it would be hard to stay in the raft but its not - there wasnt too much we had to learn either just a few moves to stop us fallin out dependin on how rough the water got and how steep the drops were - we got soaked right through instantly and by the end of the day most of us were jumpin in and out of the water whenever we could lol.
Tully river's meant to be the best place to waterraft in australia - we
went down loads of rapids - more than i thought we would, it turned out
to be a whole day thing that was really good. After we went down one of
the rapids we were told a hand full of people have died going down it -
lovely lol. we stopped for lunch and carried on down some more and when
we got more comfortable and knew wha we were doin we were tippin over
on purpose it was really good i'm glad i did it. whats even better is
that its fresh water so wasnt minging when u got a mouth full lol.
Kim had a rift with the instructer at the beginning cause she's not confident in water (went kayaking once and it tipped over and she paniced) so she told the instructor and he just wasnt nice about it really and in the first half hour he told us to get in the water and let the current take us down stream to another bit so we could see how fresh the water was etc and when kim said she didnt want to he literally TOLD her to get in :-o then when she got in she paniced so he dragged her out the water and told her how much of a health hazzard she was and all this bollocks, rude or what! considering he knew in the first palce and his the one instigatin a hazard by forcin her in the water! nevermind its all done n dusted now - and apparently none of the other instructors like him cause we were chattin to a few after haha.
This was our last night at mission beach before our next stop!
