So Steve already touched on part of our ordeal at Holiday Inn Express, but there's more to tell.

One thing he forgot to say was that during our midnight move from The Bug Room, we found out that they didn't even know the bike was in the garage as the valet staff never reported it in their records! So there was a whole discussion of who we were and what we were driving and were we sure it was in their garage? Duh.

Yesterday morning after breakfast, bacon and eggs neither of which had ever even been in the same room as pigs or chicken......or anything else remotely edible for that matter. Anyway, after breakfast we once again complained to the front desk about the room- this time The Train Station Room. The woman put on a great show of concern and the proper shock about the bugs from the first room. Not to worry, a lot of people were checking out and she was sure she could find us an excellent room. And, since it's our honeymoon, she'll have a surprise waiting for us as well.

Not sure what the surprise was. King size bed or the mirrored closet doors facing the bed. If it's that second one, I'm a little concerned about their staff.

The room was good, though, and the fact that I was running a slight fever made falling asleep a breeze!

But then there was this morning. First thing I noticed was that the bill fairy had come during the night and slipped the bill under the door. That parking fee that they said they'd take care of? Nope, still on the bed. Ok, we'll talk to them about that.

Next thing we noticed is that Steve has been eatten alive! I don't know if it was a delayed reaction to the bugs the night before or if they crawled into our clothing, or possibly were in the lastest room, but he has bites all over him! Gross!

So, once again after a breakfast of meatish products, we complained to the front desk. Once again they said they'd take the charge off for the parking. But there wasn't anything else they could do to make up for the bugs from hell. We got the business card for the manager and we'll be emailing him. The thing I'm afraid of is that he'll send us a voucher for a free night. Because that's just what we want, to stay in a bug infested hotel with horrendous food again.

That is so gross! Definitely complain to the manager. And take pictures of the bites. Include that in the email. Not a bad idea to put a word in with the Better Business Bureau and maybe the citys Tourism board or whatever they call it. I'd have checked out the hotel and found a new one!

Extra surprise
I would be worried about what was behind those mirrored closet doors!
What an awful experience but I'm sure it didn't dampen your spirits too much. Hope those bug bites have healed Steve - would be difficult to itch them on the bike. Thinking of you both having an amazing time. Love

Re: Extra surprise
Unfortunately, no. They've turned into ugly red welts all over his body, and itch like crazy! He's been putting cream on them, but you know how quickly that wears off.
