So now instead of being 6 hours behind I am 13 hours ahead and rather time confused!
Auckland is much more spread out than I expected and also very clean (there is hardly any litter and the white buildings are still white!!)
Down by the harbour in the centre is very nice (and rather posh!), at the moment there is the Louis Vitton boat race so there are some very post boats around!
Its a bit of a culture shock from Central America but it is really nice, and lots of clothes shopping opportunities which could be a problem!!
The hostel I am staying in (with the other volunteers) is very close to Queen Street which is the main street in Auckland, however, K road is not so nice, being the home of the strip joints, massage palours and the transvestites! so thats fun!!
apparently it is the worst road in the city but it cetainly isnt that bad in comparison to certain streets in London and other worldwide cities!
I went to Waitakere college today, which is in West Auckland and is where I will be volunteering.  Im working in the inclusion support centre and the staff and students are all very nice, and Im looking forward to being there.  I am doing mainly occupational therapy but will also be acting as a teaching aide, and might set up some music therapy.
So I've got an exciting month ahead, I want to make the most of my time at Waitakere, but I also need to make sure that my days off and some evenings are productive so that I get to see as much of the city as I can as there seems to be masses to do!!!
