One of the places I wanted to see was the San Antonio Museum of Art. I read that their collection of art was eclectic and wonderful. I really wanted to see both their Egyptian collection and their Greek collection. It's so fun to me how trips reference each other. We did see lots of great Egyptian art and some nice Greek and Roman art too. I'm hoping the Roman art is a view of things to come. And not to leave out one more fun cross-over, I saw Iznik tiles from Turkey. After you have been to the country and seen them in situ, it is easy to recognize them in a museum. Museums do a wonderful job of preserving art and objects of importance but even more I see them as filling a function of inspiring our minds.
