We arrived there quite late because of the day of the revolution from 1979. From the outskirts and the countryside busses went into the city with people in and on it with black and red striped flags.
Finally just a celebration and not a new one. The city was very derserted and spooky because everyone was on the festivalplaza. Arriving at the Ticabus stop we were followed by a "guide" (more a drunken jung beggar) and we did not get rid of him all tactics i learned before were hopeless. He followed me to all hostels I checked (i dropped Maria at a restaurant with the backpacks). He was chatting at me about all the places and repeated that there is no commission for him and i should just look. But why did he accompanied me then? ;-).
We found a place to stay finally and did not have to share it with the guy. After a while we got rid of him (while eating in a restaurant). He even asked for commission at the restaurant and later a bigger guy came into the restaurant and got a free beer and "my friend" was quite mad at him, so kind of a snowball style mafia organization? Don't know?
We early got on the bus to Ganada and "we" never found the right bus so fast. We went out of the taxi and in a second 5-10 guys were screaming at us for taking theire bus. We pointed at the nicest and biggest one and in a sec. our backpacks were there. So the whole thing was about less than a minute.
Now we are in Ganada and are happy again. Nice food, Nice City.... more in the next few days.
