I'll be honest, Sunday to Tuesday wasn't the most relaxing time in the world for either of us. A combination of lack of sleep, shady or makeshift accommodation for the night, 4 airports in 4 countries, average food opportunities en route which usually consisted of the airport variety, and constant immigration card filling in. I know, your heart bleeds right?

But no matter, we knew our next destination was to be for 12 or so days and it was the luscious South Andaman Sea Thai island, Koh Lipe which is located within the Adang archipelago. It's a stunning sea gypsy inhabited island very close to the Malaysian sea border and has amazing coral reefs easily accessible via Swimming or jumping on a cheap longtail boat. The water is the clearest we  have ever seen the sea so with a mask the visibility is incredible and life abundant.
There are several different islands surrounding Li Pe which are National Marine parks and are supposedly protected by the government, although we've seen a fair few fishing vessels near-by since arriving here.

As we had cancelled our PADI Open Water in Goa due to the Arabian Sea being about as clear as the Thames, we decided on doing it here in Li Pe. We weren't disappointed.

The dive school (Lotus Diving) we booked with are amazing and the instructor/dive masters Neil, Amanda & Harry are very sound people and extremely knowledgeable. So far we have done 2 days consisting of basic training and 3 Open Water dives. Without being ironic we've both taken to it like fish to water with no issues whatsoever, i guess it's come quite naturally and both Sofie and I have the diving bug now. So far the most notable sightings would include a Stingray, Large mushroom head Jellyfish, Stone Fish, Scorpion Fish, Wrasse, numerous colourful Coral, and lots more brightly coloured life..For our last dive we go to a site known as 'Stonehenge' which has some pretty spectacular Coral & Fish life so looking forward to that.
We are day 1 of a 2 day break which gives us time to study up and watch dvd training vids so we can breeze the test, so our Sunday today gives us the chance to do just that.

Bar lots of diving, snorkelling, eating, drinking, premiership watching (shocking result for Spurs yesterday!) and sun bathing there isn't much else to report apart from Sofie splitting her big toe open on a curb this morning.

More later..

Ok so we passed our Open Water certification and apparently according to Neil, we are also very good divers!

I'm doing a party with the Dive school tomorrow in the bar, i just can't help myself i guess..

Bring on Koh Tao and the advanced divers course!
