ZIPPITTS AND I FINALLY GOT AIRBORNE AT BLYTHE, FLEW TO MOJAVE THE LONG WAY AFTER EDWARDS APPROACH CONTROL WOULD NOT LET ME SHORTCUT THROUGH RESTRICTED AREA R2515. NO SURPRISE THERE, BUT IT DOESN'T HURT TO ASK.
AT MOJAVE, VISITED WITH CHUCK COLEMAN WHO LOOKS GREAT, IS FLYING AS A CFI, BUT DOES NOT HAVE HIS MEDICAL BACK FROM FAA ALTHOUGH HE HAS JUMPED THRU ALL THEIR HOOPS AND IS JUST WAITING. HE IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON SPACE SHIP 2 FOR RICHARD BRANSON AND SCALED.
THEN ON TO RENO AFTER FLYING OVER YOSEMITE.
HOPEFULLY TOMORROWS BLOG WILL INCLUDE SOME PIX OF THE TRIP.
SEVERAL OTHER COMPETITORS ARE BRINGING ME SOME WHEELPANTS AND HOPEFULLY SOME WILL FIT.
HAPPY TO BE HERE, BELIEVE ME!!!

Re: Safe arrival
George - Glad to hear you made it there despite all the difficulties. Hopefully you'll get wheel pants to fit - good to know you can count on friends to help. Thanks for daily updates, we are watching with interest. Good luck -
Carol

George - congrat's on a safe, but 'interesting' trip.
Hope all the excitement is behind you for the rest of the week! Glad to hear Chuck is doing well. John and the T-6 should arrive Reno today, was looking and sounding good at deperture yesterday. Take care, good luck, and keep up the good reporting! Phil
