Paros was excellent - I had my favourite day in Greece there. Cam, Brooksy and I hired quad bikes for a day and burned around the island. I think that hiring bikes, scooters, or a car and travelling around an island is the best way to really get to know it. Public transport really doesn't cut it on small islands. So yeah, we burned around, checking out the wonderful scenery and enjoying the perfect weather, until we got to a place called Golden Beach. It was time for windsurfing.

I had been windsurfing once before (many years ago) but the other 2 hadn't, so we decided to cop a "group lesson" from a very stoned South African fella. The "lesson" consisted of him talking to us for about 2 minutes, then sitting down and watching us struggle! One of his colleagues was much more helpful, yelling out tips from the shoreline, and we all picked it up quickly from that point on 01 Sun streaming in over Cam drinking beer

. It was brilliant fun, we spent about 3 hours out there. Another few gyroses and our afternoon was complete. Speaking of gyros, over the last week the three of us managed to consume 56 gyros between us, a fair effort, but when we asked our waiter later on what his record was, we were blown away with the figure of 37 between 2 people in ONE SITTING. Ridiculous.

Spent our last night as a threesome here in Paros, and we celebrated the adventures of the last 7 weeks with a delicious local meal followed by beers with some Aussie lasses we had encountered in Spain and who happened to be here. The girls (Jo and Kel) had some great news for us - our decision not to go to Mykonos was the right one - they had the worst time there, trying to avoid hordes of teenage "the Real Cancun" types on beaches with doof music 24 hours a day. Great day all round, and I will miss these boys in my last 2 weeks of travelling, have had an amazing time with them, but it's time to part ways. Cam is off to Turkey, Brooks heading back home, and I'm back to Italy for a few days before hitting the former Yugoslavia.
