Picture this. Itīs around 2am. Brooksy is attempting to sleep on the floor of our Marrakesh-to-Tangier train, which stops about every three minutes for 11 hours. The lights never go off. People get on and off at every stop, waking the whole train in the process. Brooks has about 2mm of space in front of his nose before the bottom of his seat. I just beat-boxed for a few minutes with some Moroccan homeboys in the bit between carriages. Freddy is taking up four seats, legs spread, fallen asleep with his English-Portuguese phrasebook in his left hand. Cam has his jumper over his head and we are giggling at the situation like the delirious sleep-deprived travellers we are.

Dudes just got on the train speaking English and Brooksy has instantly become a comedy attraction. "Man, there is a guy sleeping on the floor there!!". Cam has just decided to copy Brooks and lie on the floor, underneath another 4 seats, in his sleeping bag. I feel like Iīm in some kind of bizarre Northern European comedy even though it shouldnīt be that funny. Not getting ANY sleep tonight I donīt think. Now Camīs balls are about 20cms from the resting position of my feet, he is sprawled underneath my seat. The rickety train continues its slow journey as I realise that it is this kind of situation that has made my trip so memorable, alongside the moments of beauty, diversity, and excitement.
