We arrived in Milan and pretty much got on the next train out. I guess fashion isn't our top priority, and we've heard from various sources that there are much better cities in Italy than Milan. But I felt that I should mention that we arrived in Italy and it felt different immediately - not only the language (which has instantly become the next language I want to learn - it's brilliant), but also the friendliness of the general population, and the stylishness of the people. We needed a coffee and the first place we went to had a big moustached guy, he looked as Italian as anyone, who was just so friendly and happy (not that Spaniards in general were unfriendly, just nothing compared to here). While there were atrocious mullet hairdoes galore in Spain, none to be seen here. Fantastic.
