After being seriously warned not to drive with my partially blind grandpa 'Tata', i was convinced to get in his car while one of my cousins, Maria Veronica, drove us up to Curico, a small city in Chile's wine district, where her dad runs a winery and their family has a house. Spent the days around Christmas there with plenty of family.
Lots of swimming in their pool, shooting at targets with a rifle (Xmas present for 12yo Jose Tomas), pingpong, soccer, foozball... Had a couple of tense poker matches with the older cousins, playing with a few dollars each, with plenty of arguments about rules, cheating, improper dealing, and player's level of skill and perception. Christmas was fun. in Chile it's celebrated on the night of the 24th, the 'Viejito Pascuero' (father christmas) brought all the little kids almost what they wanted, my aunt insisted on having horrible spanish carols playing most of the night, standard family christmas.
Next day my uncle took me on a tour of his winery which was great, really enjoyed it. Amazing how much machinery is used to keep the temperature of the different wines absolutely perfect, they've really got it down to an art. More thumbnails ...
