Ah beautiful Phi Phi...it's was good to see it again.

We found an alright place to stay for two nights with a pool but expensive for what it was.  Phi Phi now has a boxing stadium and you can train there so Camille and I took a wander to go and see it and there were three british guys training there so we stayed and watched for a bit.  We bumped into a guy Jo worked with about 4 years ago, Mark, on the island, how about that what a small world!!

In the evening we headed out to a sports bar to play their pub quiz...and out of about 7 teams we won which was pretty amazing as we had had three buckets during the questions.  It meant that we won 2000 baht which is about 32 quid...so as you can imagine we had another couple of drinks.  So we had a very early morning!!  Yesterday was a complete write off for me as I felt very sorry for myself.  Jo and Camille went on a boat ride...I did this last year which is why I didn't do it  (thank god).  Jo also booked to do her open water which she started today 1/8 and she is the only student...which is bloody good and she got it for about 150 quid.  We have moved rooms to a GH further in town no pool but half the price.  Camille is looking to go across to Phuket tomorrow for a night.

Well Camille didn't get to Phuket, we all met Mark for a drink and some wonderful BBQ seafood (expensive but worth it).  I've never eaten such big prawns!!  Jo went back early 10.30ish as she had to be up for 7 to go off diving.  We went along to Hippie's bar for the black moon party...no buckets though.  I'd had enough by 3 so headed home leaving Mark and Camille to dance the night away.  I got in and Jo said she didn't feel well.  That was the understatement of the year she was so ill.  I didn't know someone could throw up so much!!So at 7 I headed off to the dive shop to brek the news that she wouldn't be diving.  I played mum and got her, coke, and rehydration fluids.  She stayed in bed most of the day trying to sleep.  I wandered down to the beach but the tide was right in and there was no beach to sit on.  It was so hot too, I looked liked an ice-cube melting as I walked along.  Camille didn't go to Phuket but has gone today.  Jo is feelin better so has gone off to dive so I'm left to my own devices for a bit in the rain...yes it's raining but at least it's cooler.  I'm going to use the time to book some flights to Cambodia and try and get myself organised.

Well I didn't really make the most of the time, I caught a couple of movies ion the TV, god I'm lazy.  Camille enjoyed her two nights in Phuket, she prefers the bright lights and party atmosphere.  Jo completed and passed her diving.  Wished I had a go now as she was taught on her own which is what I would need and I'd also need a very patient instructor.  I mossied around the place, reading, drinking and a spot of sunbathing on the beach.

We caught the ferry back to Krabi on 5th August.  Decided to stay in Krabi town as by the time we got there it would be quiet late in the afternoon and paying for a place near the beach would be a waste of money.  We booked somewhere with a pool though as the we thought the ferry ride would be hot.  That was a bit of an understatement, the sun was blazing for the whole 2 hours I had to sit in the shae it was too much for me.  We arrived in Krabi and got ripped off getting a taxi to the hotel a fiver for 2kms oh well at least we got there.  We got some food as we were starving then it was straight in the pool to cool off and for a change the water was cool and not hot.  There wasn't much to do where we were in Krabi so we had a fairly early night as we had to be back to the airport in the morning to fly to Bangkok so we could get to the Wildlife Centre.  Oh and it was my bierthday!!
