Our last morning in Laos before flying to Hanoi.
We got up early..all these early mornings..who would have thought it. We took a tuk tuk to the main Temple and Stupor. Had to pay 5000 kips when the locals only pay 2000 not fair, and to be honest it wasn't all that good.
We headed back into town for breakfast and then back to the scary GH. We had a pretty nice temple next to our GH so we took a look around there which was better than the main one!! A young novice monk came up to us to practice his english which was pretty cool. He told us he was 16 and was going to spend the next 3 years learing to be a monk. We also had a chat to another young monk too. They are told to speak to westerners as it helps their english.
Off to the airport with our friendly tuk tuk driver. The airport is tiny with only a couple of gates but very efficient. Our flight to Hanoi was just over an hour and left on time. Always a good sign!! We even had some food on the flight, tuna roll, cake and some apple and a drink all for free...wouldn't get that at home.
Teresa arranged our hotel, the one she stayed in before meetin us in Luang Prabang and they came to pick us up. Hanoi is mad with traffic, cars and motos coming from all directions. Our hotel is in the old quater and is very nice. Expensive compared to where we have stayed before $50 a room a night but not much more than I paid in Bangkok for an alright room. We have free internet...hence catching up with this :oP
