Flew to Chiang Rai with Jo and Camille.  The flight was pretty good except for some spanish lads who were extremly noisey.  Ride from the airport was pretty smooth except our packs didn't quite fit in the boot and we were a bit worried that one might fly out!

The hotel was nice, a little expensive but came with a buffet breakfast...gotta love that.  Thought we'd hit the bar and have a cocktail.  I took my malaria pill and couldn't even manage a cup of tea I felt so sick so it was back to the cool air con room for me!!!  I was a bit sick...teach me to take it without eating, won't make that mistake again.

Jo and Camille took a wander around the town which is quite small.  Once I felt human again after a good nap we went in search of the night market and some food.  Went to totally in the wrong direction and ended up in the local fruit and veg market.  A kind young Thai man put us straight and we found it...almost right next to our hotel!!  What is they say about women and there sense of direction!!  The market was nice and very bust the most 'falang' (tourists) we had seen all day.

Once we had some food it was back to the hotel for more sleep..the heat makes you so tired and its not even as hot as it was last year!

Breakfast the next morning was good and we all had a fill..didn't need to eat until dinner.  Jo and Camille went off to Chiang Khong on a very dilapilated red bus ( no aircon!!) and just about roadworthy so they could leave Thailand and catch a boat to Huay Xai in Laos as they were doing the gibbin experience.  Trekking in the jun gle, sleepin i tree houses and zipping about on ziplines tryin to see Gibbons.

I found a nice enough aircon room with hotwater and TV y the bus station as I was staying for the next two night before making the Chiang Khong to Huay Xia trip to meet them.

Spent the next couple of days watching TV, having a massage and a bit of a walk....very  very lazy.
