It can't decide if it wants to rain or shine. I am sitting here at Blarney Castle having an espresso after attempting to kiss the Blarney Stone. I have to say attempt because that is exactly what it was, an attempt, not a success. I pretty much completely lost it. I struggled walking up these narrowing spiral stairs, and at the top of castle is the stone. When you kiss the stone you are actually lowered backwards and if you have your eyes open you are looking straight down at the ground.
There is this lovely little Irish man there to guide you and hold you so you don't fall. Libbee went first, and did a great job of pashing the stone whilst being held and tickled by the Irish man, and boy is she ticklish
Well we made it to the B&B that we are staying in tonight, The Craggy Island B&B and it is adorable, it is atop a mountain, and on a clear day, you would be able to see the ocean.
So after we left Blarney, we headed toward Limerick where we were going to stop for lunch, but when we got there nothing was open so we headed on out of there up the highway a little to this cute little castle where we stopped and ate.
Then we drove towards Galway, to the Cliffs of Moher, which totally lived up to expectations for me, they were unbelievably marvelous
After leaving the Cliffs we headed to a little town / village called Doolin where our B&B is located. Where we checked in before getting directions to the best place for dinner. Our host suggested we go to Gus O'Connor's Pub on the other side of Doolin because they have music until 8pm, which is exactly where we went.
What a quaint little Irish pub, very typical I think. So similar to the Pub from P.S. I Love You. (I wonder where that was filmed). It was full of locals and had a small group playing traditional Irish folk music. We ate, had a drink, chatted to some people before heading back to our room in the B&B ready for some sleep, and it is only 9pm. The days are so draining, exciting yet tiring. We have driven 50kms in the last day and half and half another 300kms or so to do tomorrow to get to Dublin and fly back to London. Where I will be for 5 days. What will I do with myself being in one place for so long?
You know you love me
