Where I stayed
Here we are back on the bus ready to go and leave Firenze (Florence). What an experience sharing a room! Firstly, she is a snorer and farter and I think she either burns deep heat or rubs her entire body in it. Then this morning I get, Tracey, Tracey we have not had our wake up call yet... This was at 5.45am; our wake up call is not until 6am, talk about not too impressed, I like my sleep... Grrr, Gerry is looking at getting her a single room, as she has asked for one and is going to pay the single supplement, which may mean that I won't have to share a room any more and will go back to being on my own, yippee!!! Let's hope Gerry can pull through.
Today we head to Lake Lucerne which is in Switzerland, with lunch in Lake Lugano, and I am so looking forward to Switzerland
Well we are pulled over n the side of the road because the bus has broken down. The bus in is real trouble... We were stopped for an hour just on the side of the road and now the Polizia are here and are escorting us to the closest service stop.
So we have been waiting here at this stop for about 4 hours and our new bus has finally arrived. It was an interesting stop as we saw 2 Italian men pull up on their motorbikes and walk up to fence, pull out their privates and start peeing right there in front of us, about 20 feet from where we were sitting. They were so close we could see a lot, and yes it is true what they say about Italian men...
So we are now about 30 minutes from the Swiss border, having just driven past Milano, no stopping for shopping for Tracey L.
Wow, 5 - 10 minutes into Switzerland and this country again takes my breath away. Mountains, lakes they are everywhere. We are stopping quickly in Lugano for photo opportunities, not as long as we should have but we get to stop all the same.
What a very pretty city Lugano is. It makes me wish the original tour that I had booked hadn't been cancelled, but then if that had of happened I would not have met the lovely people that I have met on this tour
Oh my goodness, I just saw a mountain with snow on its peaks, and it is summer here...
Switzerland is not part of Europe Euro, it is a neutral country still and hearing Gerry talk about their Army and their history is just mind blowing and awesome.
There are also all of these natural waterfalls that just come down the mountains behind towns, houses and just out of nowhere.
At this moment we are driving through this tunnel that is 17kms long, it seems to go forever. It is so cool. Also, the weather has dropped from 29˚ at Lugano to about 16˚. We have just exited the tunnel and it is raining on this end, it wasn't when we went in, and it makes this place seem so much more heavenly.
Thank the Lord, I am back on my own in my own room. It is so cute, I love everything about Switzerland.
So it is just about 1am and this is so far my latest night on tour. Jason, Marella, Alix, Sue, Gerry and I just spent the night in the bar downstairs in our hotel having a few drinks and it was so much fun. Kinda wishing Gerry was on tour and not our tour director... Oh la la.
Oh well need to get some sleep, am heaping up a big mountain tomorrow.
You know you love me
