So the sun sets, well not really, but here is the end of another day here in lovely warm Finland.  Spent another day at the 'beach' working on my tan.  I find it so weird to be sun baking when I know that my lovely friends are back in Oz freezing their little tooshes' off.  At least I am not the whitest person here; considering these Fins hardly ever see the sun they are very very white.  There are some though that obviously spend all the summer days baking it up, because they leave Gold Coasters in their wake when it comes to browning it up.
Have you ever seen someone riding along on roller blades, or even walking along, with skiing poles?  No?  Well it certainly is a funny sight and one that is seen here in Tampere so often you feel left out if you don't have the pole with you when you walk.
I am resigned myself to being Nanny to Slade.  I take it as a compliment, but it makes me feel old hehehe, no offence to my mother, whom I do love dearly, and I think Slade does too.  It is weird though when he comes in and asks me where Poppy is...
Lauree keeps telling me that there is not much to do here and that what we are doing is pretty much it, but alas, I intend to make her do some driving around when Jason leaves tomorrow on his work trip back to Australia.  To the cold, haha Jay.
I headed off to bed last night at about 10.30pm and took this lovely photo of the sun, it was on it way down, but I think it still had another hour in it before it disappeared into the ether.  Not sure what time it came up this morning but when I woke up about 4am it was up, not rising but up.  So I headed back to bed, for another couple of hours sleep, then up before anyone else here, even Jay who had to leave for work.  I even managed to borrow his work phone and called Optus.  Finally after speaking to 2 non-English speaking persons, I finally got transferred to an Aussie, who after I told I was in Finland did his best to quickly find out what the problem with my International roaming was and got me contacted.  I am now up and running with communications across the board.  YIPPEE...
So we just had dinner, and I have to admit, Chinese tastes better here than back home.  It is cool, with every main meal that you order you get a free serve of boiled rice.  Didn't realize that, but hey free stuff...
Lauree took me to 'Alko' which is the Finnish bottleshop, and low and behold there was a whole section of Australian wines.  So awesome to be on the other side of the world and there is Australian signs for the wine selection.  Lauree picked a bottle of Australian red, I picked a couple of Argentinean bottle of white, to give it a try.
Now we are just settling in to watch Underbelly.  We are 5 episodes in and Jason is addicted, wouldn't be surprised if he sits up all night watching all 13 episodes.  He is leaving tomorrow after all.
Signing off now.  What will I do tomorrow??
