We're moving out of our downtown apartment and smashing our entire lives into a 10X10 box. Moving out is never fun, everyone hates some portion of it, if not all of it. Moving isn't even fun when you're doing it to go on an awesome vacation. Though I dispize it, it's a great way to minimize the amout of total crap that you own. As I carry things down flights of stairs or elevators, they suddenly become less meaningful to me.
Let it be said here and now, that Aisha and David Krebs are badasses for helping me move AGAIN.

Friends help you move, but real friends help you move when you're not even going to be around.

There are an elite set of things that you own that make the "backpack list" These are things that are usually versitile, handy, comfortable, or size efficent and make international travel possilbe. So I got excited one night and packed my bag with all the things on my backpack list. However, because these things are usually highly useful I find myself opening my back to grab out half of these things that I packed.

I'll see if I can add anything more maybe pictures of our cube when it's all packed.

Still Packing.......
Went to the airport at the ass crack of dawn, entered to find that our flight was cancelled due to a cracked windshield on the airplane. How the HELL do you crack a windshield on an airplane, a rock? in the sky? who knows. anyway, we got transferred through Wash. DC instead of Newark, and on Untied instead of Continental, but it all turned out for the best and we arrived safely, and surprisingly, right on schedule regardless of the fact that we had such a problem at the beginning of the trip. At least my bag showed up *phew* So now that all the bugs are out of our travel system we can begin having some fun.

We had the layover of the century in Paris, 12 hours before our flight to Madrid. We took the metro into the city and even though Karla got some coffee, we still almost fell asleep standing up. We needed desperately to get the backpacks off our backs! The flight to Madrid was uneventful, I think I fell asleep. When we arrived in Madrid and found our hostel, ate some food and had a pint, then crashed out hard.....it's good to finally be here.
