Today I had an interview with Assane Badji, the Director of Operations for the Seeds Project. I pitched my idea to run 3 basketball camps from July 12th to September 16th. I informed him that along with basketball, the camp is prepared to teach the youth about AIDS/HIV awareness, leadership life skills seminars and the importance of education and proper exercising. We briefly discussed a budget for providing the camp with sufficient water supply, first aid equipment, refurbishing the courts and providing the most notable coaches from Senegal to run the different stations with me. We are even trying to get a NBA official to stop by during one of the sessions; More info on that…stay tuned! We set the dates and locations for all three sessions and have already started spreading the word to the youth to sign up.

After the meeting we took a drive to where the NBA Basketball without Borders Africa will be held and visited the brand new courts, the hotel and press room. All I can say is the event will be pretty official.

I just got in the house from playing some basketball with the local kids at the playground nearby where I am staying. I am getting ready to shower, eat and post this blog entry but the electricity just went out so I will post it first thing tomorrow morning. Good Night World!
