Day 3: So this year I spent my Fourth of July a little different from traditional 4th of July's; no fireworks; no cookouts. I did although enjoy my "fourth" of July here in Dakar. I enjoyed my last breakfast at the Astoria Hotel and checked out at noon. My friend Mactar and his wife Aminata are generously hosting me in their home for the duration of my stay in Senegal. Mactar works with the NBA organizing events and marketing here in Dakar. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Seeds Project. (Sports for Education and Economic Development in Senegal).

He picked me up from the hotel and helped me move my belongings. I am now living in Sibac District 6. It is a nice neighborhood and the people are extremely friendly. I showed Mactar my Shooting Touch video: (http://youtu.be/ZPw_wlfbin4) and one of the pictures I used from the Senegal website was his own picture he took last summer for a camp here in Dakar. I am also learning that I usually blog around 10:00pm which is 6:00pm US time. So check it after 6 pm! I actually just stepped in the house from the Marius Ndiaye stadium as I was fortunate to catch the Finals for the Mayors Cup Men over 20 league. It was a very exciting and nail biting game as the Dakar University Club (Duc) took on Jeanne D'arc community Club. I am still not used to the time difference so I will try to catch up on some much needed rest. Bonne nuit!
