Inssbruck is a charming little town and quite a difference from Italy. Though Trento was also a part of Tyrol- southern Tyrol that is, the cultural difference is immediately visible. We didn´t spend a lot of time here, but we would consider coming back. We spent some time strolling its charming picture-perfect streets that fulfill every stereotype you´ve ever heard about Tyrol, making it look kind of like a year-round snow-globe town. From almost everywhere in the city, one can see the majestic mountains that surrounding, so one of the days we spent here was dedicated to some hiking. After a few grueling hours, we actually managed to go up to a cabin 1500m up, from where we could see some unbelievable views, while listening to an elderly and incredibly fit Austrian couple playing a guitar and yodeling (it was the Tyrol after all), and drinking more beer than we should have with an Ukranian Californian backpacker named Taras. All in all quite memorable and well worth the sore muscles the next day. Though we liked the place, we only spent a couple of days here before heading north to Munich.
