So, firstly I have to apologise for my lack of blog updating. At first it was due to not much happening over here, what with me getting into the swing of work. And then it was due to not having enough time to sit down and do it! But now it's my day off and I have as much time as I need to fill you all in on my latest news.

So work has been good the last few weeks. I now feel settled at Mouse Gear and am enjoying my time there. I'm on the registers all day which can get a bit tedious at times but the guests are all lovely so it's fun to interact with everyone. I got a marriage proposal from a man the other week, trying to set me up with his son. I thought he looked about 20 years old but as it turns out, he was 34 and had two children... so that one didn't go very far! I was deployed to Magic Kingdom last week to work on strollers. At first I was iffy about it and wasn't enjoying it too much, but by the end of the week I'd made a lot of new friends and had a good time there. I would say I'm still partial to Mouse Gear however, and I don't think my poor shins could take any more bruising from kicking the strollers to stack them up at the end of every night!

So the weekend just gone was an extremely busy one due to it being a very special day for me indeed; My 21st birthday, wahoo! My brother Tom got in touch and told me he was coming down to visit with some friends, which was a nice surprise. So they arrived Thursday night and we spent the next day at Magic Kingdom. Then in the evening, a group of us went out on the party bus to downtown Orlando to a club called Bliss. It was nice to venture out of the Disney bubble for once and see someplace different. Then the next day we were up bright and early again as a group of us went to Islands of Adventure. The rides at Universal are definitely more suited to our age group but it was weird walking around and not seeing anything Disney! I swear we've been brainwashed. I also got to experience The Wizarding World of Harry Potter which was AMAZING. It actually looks like you're walking through the film set. The ride in the castle is just incredible. The technology they use is like nothing I've seen before. And we all got to try the famous Butterbeer, which I can only describe as cream soda. It's nice but very weird. And very sickly. After half a cup, we'd all had enough and it was thrown away haha.
My weekend was finished off with a trip to Hollywood Studios on the Sunday with Tom and the girls. Tom was desperate to be an extra in the Indiana Jones stunt show but his jumping around in his seat failed miserably. It was amusing to watch though as he was completely overlooked by the casting director. Then it was time to say goodbye as they went to catch their flight back to New York and I went for a 6 hour shift at work. This was after I was given my birthday present from my brother; my very own Tiffany's bracelet! I was not expecting anything so nice, so it was a lovely surprise :) And with all the messages, texts and cards I received, it made my birthday such a good one and one I will definitely remember for years to come. So thanks everyone!

Now I'm sitting in my brand new apartment and I've found I've settled in a lot quicker than I thought I would. I'm still with my roommate Amy, which is good as I don't think I could do without her constant whining and jabbering all day long ;) It was sad saying bye to our Canadian flatmates but their programme had ended and so they went back home while we were made to move apartments to make room for the new arrivals.

So it's been a busy busy week for me but I wouldn't have it any other way. I've had the best birthday which was made special by all my family and friends. And now it's back to work tomorrow after having a nice couple of days off to wind down. I've finally posted the picture of my Mouse Gear costume for you to all have a laugh at. But I'm afraid I broke my camera on the night of my birthday so there will be no more photos for a while!

Adios x

I so love your mouse gear. :D
And you have made me so excited about coming there now with all that you said about Harry Potter!
Tom's prancing on his seat to get the attention of the casting director for Indy Jones made me laugh. I betcha I will catch his/her attention. I owe it to our Indie here to do that!
And you got your own Tiffany's Wall Street Original from Tom. I have never forgotten my first Chanel full set of make up from my brother so I can understand this will never leave you.
Glad you like your new apartment and glad that you have Amy there if not the lovely Canadian flatmates. At least you have friends in Canada to meet up with when we go there. Soon.
Yep, keep being busy. It is the best way.
Love you. And guess what? See you soon. Oh and thanks for the pictures. Get a new camera. On me.
Much love

Oh forgot to pass a comment on the marriage proposal.

Na, forget it. You will delete it anyways.
I know you so well.

Glad you had a super birthday. The 21st has to be a memorable one, not just for you but for all who shared in it.
You were right, the MG uniform is c... but at least it protects your shins when you're shifting stuff. Surely, Disney could do better? Maybe you could leave a few design suggestions for them?
