Flag of Panama  , San Blas Islands,
Thursday, March 21, 2013

After an extremely uncomfortable 2 hour jeep ride and a 10min boat ride we arrive at The Jacqueline, the catamaran which was going to sail us from Panama to Columbia! With 16 of us boarding and meeting Fritz the captain and his crew, we were all excited to head off!

Setting off for the San Blas Islands, we stop at one of the many Kuna Islands dotted through out the Caribbean. Covered entirely with bamboo huts with not much room for much else we all got off to explore how the natives live.. The colourful traditional dress of the Kuna women and hearing them sing traditional song was a beautiful way to start off the journey through to Columbia.

Over the next three days our catamaran was anchored up at some of the best snorkelling spots around San Blas where we were able to explore the peacefulness of the deserted islands as well as the beautiful coral and all it's inhabitants.. We feasted on freshly caught fish as well as crab and lobster King Solomon and I had the opportunity to go spear fishing for..

After three days of bliss in paradise it was time to set off into the open water heading for Cartagena.. I was completely fine with the seasickness until I decided to have a shower.. Worst.. Idea.. Ever!! The shower is a little tiny room below deck. It gets pretty stuffy in there and the rocking motion of the boat set my senses in a spin and that was it.. I spent the next two days in a drugged up comma..
