Jumping off the bus we are standing on the road ready and waiting to catch the next bus to Monteverde. To our dismay and after wrong information from our previous bus driver the last bus had already left and the next one wasn't until the next day.. We were stranded in the middle of nowhere.. It was late in the afternoon and with hitch hiking or a AU$150 (over) taxi ride to our destination we weren't left with many options.. After arguing the fare with the taxi drivers we were so lucky a nice old man in a mini mini van pulled and offered to take us to the closet town 30mins away.. I never thought I would be hitch hiking in Central America!

So it was good bye and thank you to the nice old man and a long taxi ride before we finally made it to Monteverde! Unfortunately the rain had followed us and this was the first cold weather we had hit since Mexico City..

We had come here for the zip lining! With lines up to 1km long and over 450ft high. Who doesn't want to fly through the air like Superman or swing on a rope like Tarzan!?

One dark and rainy night there was a knock at our hotel room door.. Our wine tainted chatter turned to silence as we all looked at one another with curiosity.. We all turned to Simon.. When safety is an issue you gots to send out the muscle.. With a quick peek through the sheer curtain and a quick swipe of the door we were greeted with a half soaked young man I recognised from earlier in the day.. 'Hi, I'm John Carlos the Canadian, would you guys mind if I joined you to the boarder of Costa Rica? I've had a falling out with my friends and you all seem pretty cool!' With barely a glimpse back Solomon shakes the mans hands and welcomes John Carlos.. 'Thank God!! Another guy!!'

(Fine print: Exaggeration may be present in this story but as Solomon always says.. Never let a story get in the way of a good yarn)

The following morning we did a jeep boat jeep to La Fortuna!
