So, i want to write this quickly so it's not too long.

Every week when i play badminton the men hit the shuttlecock to me and shout 'Smassing! Smassing!' But I can't concentrate on playing when these posh English/Korean men are shouting ridiculous things at me. It's insane. All I can imagine is playing with them in the 16th century and they have top hats on shouting 'What a smassing shot dear!'. Crazy.

Korea seems to have this strange time warp thing going on. If you are under 40 years old you generally look younger than 20. However 1 minute over 40 and you look 60, 60 year olds look 100. I'm not joking. Koreans don't age for 20 years and then 1 day everything ages and they are verrrrry old looking. It's weird. I saw my wee old garlic lady at the market yesterday and she was sitting with her legs right up beside her (her hips look dislocated cause her legs are so high up) and she had a cigarette dangling from her mouth whilst she bagged garlic. I love her. She is incredible. She looks...about 110 years old. Emma's co-teacher said she was probably 70. Unreal.

We went to the orphanage and finally met the children we are to be teaching and they are all lovely, apart from one girl who seems to have some behaviour and attention issues. She is crazy, but luckily we are working in a group of 3, so it'll be easier to deal with her. I can't wait to start working with them and actually getting to work on a personal level rather than instructing a group of 40 children to 'Lead and Leapeat apter me'. It should be good fun to get to teach in a completely different style.

This week it's been exam week, so I've only been in school from 8.20am til 12.45pm. Doing nothing but planning my trip to Thailand!! Woopee!! Going for 3 weeks in January. So, since I've had very little school I've been to seomun market again (to buy more silk. I might become a seamstress. Have been sewing all week). Also been to Pizza hut and eaten the new pizza that has hotdogs in the crust. Weird. I have also had a massage. And played badminton. And basketball. And eaten Korean BBQ food which is always good.

Tonight I will go downtown and do some xmas shopping and then eat and drink. Think I might spoil myself with some cheesecake. Forest, in downtown, serves amazing cheesecake. And wine. Always a great combo!!

It's quite cold here. But generally really sunny too which is nice! None of this muggy cloudy nonsense that you get in Scotland. Here its crispy cold. But nice. So far I have bought 6 hats. I always forget to take mine with me, so I just buy a new one everytime I'm out. It's great!!

Oh - did I tell you i went to the cinema? To see 'The Departed'? It was good (because Leo was in it) however I hate films that leave me so confused?! Like - I was asking so many questions and didn't know who did what or who was who. Manic.

I can't think of any particularly funny stories from this week. Apart from my principal doing his usual and calling me and saying "Kim. Yes? Come down." So I go down and he has made me copies of the photos he took when we went to the folk village out at Andong. He kept saying "Elizabeth Taylor came here." and "Here you are standing next to her picture."

It was Queen Elizabeth II. Not bloody Elizabeth Taylor. But I found it hysterical, so kept saying "Oh yes, yes. Elizabeth Taylor!". As I was leaving he said to me "Women are chatterbox's. You picture? Me? No." I took that to mean that the pictures were a secret and I wasn't to show anyone. What a strange little man. He makes me laugh though!! In every photo of us he'd say "Who is that lucky man in the middle of those two beautiful girls?! Haha!" He is a midget of a man and doesn't even come up to Emma's or my shoulders. He should've been an Umpa Lumpa!! He just laughs all the time then looks off into the distance thinking about something wisdomous.

Anyways, must dash. There's shopping to do!! And funny stories to happen to me. Have a lovely jubbly day!!
