Taught my first lesson today (up until now ive been teaching introductory lessons which consist of questions about me and pronunciation of words). Its been really good fun. Feels nice seeing them progress and all of the classes are so very different. Some are loud and shout 'teacher teacher' continuously. Others work silently.

Everyone here sounds like a robot because their accent is from all the cd's and tapes they've listened to.

I walked to school today which takes around 40mins. But it was pouring with rain. I was planning on taking the bus or a taxi, but i saw a woman from my school and said hi to her. She then came over and shared her umbrella with me. I said 'are you getting the bus?' she said 'yes'. So i followed her (carrying her brolly for her). Then i said 'are you getting the bus or walking?' she said 'yes'. I then said 'how old is your son?' she laughed and said 'yes'. So the walk to school was fun - i had been conned. Arrived 15mins late and was shouted at by soo-jin (well not shouted at, just told off) for being late!? I tried to explain that i had planned to get a taxi here for 8.15 but that woman just kept on walking and i was carrying her brolly. I hope i never meet her again. I'm gonna have to worry every morning now! And ive forgotten her name too. Also, teachers should be in school for 8.20 however classes don't start until 9.10. So I don't know what all the fuss was about!

I'm really loving working here today! Especially teaching lesson 1 - its so good to see them progress! So, i'm quite happy! However two of my classes tomorrow are intro ones!!! But its all going quite well.

Hoping to take the Daegu tour bus on saturday. Its meant to be quite good. Then...have forgotten my plans for sunday. Probably sleep. Cant be doing with getting up at 6.30 every morning and having a shower in the toilet. Wait til you see it - hysterical!! At least we have a sink tho. Courtney doesnt even have a sink!

Ok, so the showers here are a hose above the sink. Attached to the tap. So, you can go to the toilet, then turn the tap on, pull the lever out and the shower starts showering you whilst your standing at the sink. And yes, thats right, you've guessed it. I forgot to push the lever back down yesterday morning and when i turned the tap on to brush my teeth before i left for school - i got a second shower!!! Really very fun!!! Not!!! So had to stand in front of the fan for hours!!

I now have my alien card. Woop. And no, you are NOT the first person to make the ET joke! Thanks for trying tho. I do look a little like ET on my card.

In korea, everything is backwards, for example addresses, and names. So when i say i am Taransay Smith, everyone now calls me 'Smiss'. Excellent. Stupid ppl. Also, you are already 1 year old from the day you are born. And get older each year on the 1st january. So, acutally i am 23, soon to be 24 by next january!!! So, i thought i only lost one day when i flew here - but i lost almost two years!!! Feel sorry for babies born in december!!! haha! They are already 2 years old before they are even one month!!!
Koreans are weird. I dunno why anyone would come here!!!

Did you know?! That in the Korean English Exam there is a question called the 'flag rule'. The flag rule asks you to select the words which are spelled one way, however are pronounced the other. However, this is not a test of Milngavie!!! Oh no - this is an american test! For example 'Water' is pronounced 'Wader', so it should be selected. I have made it VERY clear that americans do not actually speak correct english and that everyone must speak like me from now on. As i am correct and live nearer to engerland - the place where english is from. Bloody americans - ruin everything.
