I very almost titled this "The Second Best University in the World". But I decided that would be incredibly awful of me. One thing I learned about myself today (or rather re-learned as I kind of already knew) is that I am a total snob. About some things anyway.

Harvard was really lovely, all green trees and red brick buildings. I didn't get the same college feeling I did at Stony Brook though, probably because although it is a campus university in some ways there are lots of 'normal' people around too. I left Bryn and Bethan in Harvard Yard and wandered around Harvard Law School, walking with such purpose that someone asked me for directions.

After another bookshop (I have gone to Lots - I should rename this blog "Bookshops of the Americas"), this one the Harvard Book Shop, rather lovely and I got a book by Robin McKinley, a favourite author of mine. Til joined us (she had been giving a talk to lots of people) and we headed out of Boston towards Anna's dad's house in New Hampshire. We stopped by a mall on our way where we had a look around Macy's and a Forever Twenty-One, the Top Shop of the USA.

The house has an amazing view, though just before we arrived it began to rain. It looks like it must be an amazing place in the summer. I wish I could run down and look at the lake but it is a little cold and dark now (not to mention wet). Perhaps in the morning.

Goodnight all!
