I met Anna at Utica station (which had some impressive columns) and we drove to Cooperstown. It is so lovely to see Anna again, I will not possibly be able to explain how much. We talked all the way home. Her appartment in Coopers town is lovely. It is on the top floor of a house, almost like an attic and that makes it feel special and somehow secret. There is a lovely kitchen with blue walls where we all cook together. I am sleeping on large window seat in the living room. Sarah, the girl Anna is living with is lovely too. I really like both their accents. New England accents are so lovely.
Cooperstown is rather sweet, all detached clapboard houses with shutters. Some are painted in some really lovely colours, I think I'll try and get photos. I saw one painted in a leafy green, with a turret and if left abandoned for a decade or so would make the most perfect haunted house. Now I want to live in a house with a turret when I am older. Ten minutes walk gets you into the centre of town where the sights consist of an old theatre which is now a shop, a very charming bakery and a wax museum where the heroes of baseball are immortalised.
After dinner we went and sat outside the library with a flask of cinnamon and chocolate tea and a few slices of zuccini loaf (cougette to english people, it has chocolate chips in and is a great deal more delicous than it sounds). We watched 'Away We Go' a funny and sweet film about a couple who are expecting a baby and decide to travel all over America to find the best place to bring her up.
I feel tall here, I am taller than both Anna and Sarah. The have started asking me to get things from top shelves.
