Where I stayed
As I also said in the last entry, I hadn't checked out Starbucks. I have and wasn't disappointed, the best cappuccino, when visiting BA, is still in Sydney Airport.
Went to La Glorieta(The Bower). It is the same as Siempre's Rotunda in the Elder Park, except the 'rotunda' takes about 200people. No entry fee - just start dancing. My opinion, nay our opinion, wouldn't go again. It was very crowded, dancing etiquette was random, unlike Siempre's couldn't really bring chairs, music OK, See video. Maybe it is better on other nights?
Sunday afternoon and we went to the Gardel Museum,(Museo Casa Carlos Gardel is located at
Jean Jaurés 735)
much as I would have liked out of it. (Must really get back into learning Spanish)
Sunday night we headed for Centro Montanes(J.Newbury 2818), seems to be for locals, a bit
like the Tango Club, where every one know each other. When we arrived we asked where the
nearest restaurant was? There in the same building - great. After a very pleasant meal, we
went out of one door into another to the milonga. The waiter came after me, no I had left a
tip, he said I dropped a 100 peso note. Being very pleased at his honesty I immediately
gave him a financial reward. One should always encourage honesty. Thank god I had left him a
tip. We enjoyed the whole evening, apart from the dancing, the did the Chacarera and had a
birthday dance. Very enjoyable night. We'll be back. see video.
