We wake up far too early, doze off and wake again around 10 am - still way early given when we got to bed - only about 5 hours sleep at best! And not feeling exactly 100% either!!!! We head over the road for some stiff ca phe and some noodles for breakfast - except for David who has still not surfaced. It's a very slow start, but we have to pack up and check out of the hotel - we are all going back to Pete and Kay's to stay, now they will have a bit more room. We're finally organised and find a big enough taxi to take us, then as we unload the taxi at the Logan's, Tina and Chris realise that neither of them has the camera - we'd left it sitting under the table in the little hole in the wall café where we'd had noodles. Its been over an hour since we left it there and it's a 20 min journey back into town, so not much hope its still there. Its not so much the camera going - that's easily replaced, but all the photos from the trip so far are still on the card - especially those from the party
Back at Pete and Kay's friends arrive in fits and starts as they revive from last nights excess. It's a day for everyone to sloth out by the pool and nurse their various hangovers. Once again it's a damn hot day! And the pool gets a huge amount of use - as well as the loungers around the pool - and everyone starts to fell better and better. In fact by mid afternoon, when Pete starts offering champagne cocktails, he gets quite a few takers and most of the guys are back on the beers again. And yet again Kay has put on a magnificent buffet that we all graze on over the afternoon and evening. It's a relaxing and fun day - just what we all needed after the long weekend of partying!
Several people are leaving to fly back to their respective home countries today, so gradually the crowd thins out and those of us left at the Logans' all thankfully retreat for an early night
It has been a truly memorable weekend and a fitting way for Peter to celebrate his 50th birthday!
Relaxing in the pool
! We jump back into the cab and ask the confused taxi driver to take us back to town. We think he must have understood cos it made it back in very short time. And unbelievably, the camera was still exactly where we'd left it! There was someone else at our table sitting right by it, but they hadn't even noticed it and it was pretty well hidden where it was sitting. We were incredibly relieved. (And I think the taxi driver was pretty happy cos he just had 3 long fares in a row with no waiting plus a tip!)Back at Pete and Kay's friends arrive in fits and starts as they revive from last nights excess.
