Hello! Today was our last day in Warrington! We had a cookout with Lisa's parents, Norma and Jim, her sister, Joanne and her sister Niko and her family-Roger, Harrison and Isabella. Harrison and Isabella were very excited about meeting Americans, even though Isabella kept calling us "The Africans"! They were very cute and a lot of fun!
The day started off as many others do here-rainy and not looking like an ideal day for a cookout, but eventually the clouds rolled away and the sun appeared! But as Jim was cooking on the grill, the skies opened up and the rain came pouring in. In true British fashion, he stuck it out and continue to make our lunch! We had huge hamburgers (I am talking about the size of my head hamburgers), crisps (chips), dip, veggies, pork rolls, and ice cream for dessert. We tried to find sparklers to make it a traditional American 4th of July celebration, but it is illegal to purchase fireworks in England. So no sparklers for us. :(
We played Family Fortune (which is like Family Feud) and talked about our week here and the coming weeks. Everyone offered advice and suggestions for the weeks ahead and wished us well!
I cannot believe that our week here is over. We are leaving tomorrow for London on a bus at 8:45! Staying here has been an amazing experience and I am forever grateful to the Dutton's for taking us in and being such amazing people! We would have been lost without them and we loved every minute at their house!
London here we come!
I hope all is well by each of you!
I love and miss you all!
xx Tanya
