HAPPY 4th of JULY! I hope you are all enjoying fireworks and grilling out! No fireworks for us, it turns out that it is illegal to have fireworks in Britian! But we are going to grill out tomorrow with Lisa's family and have our own 4th of July Celebration! On the radio today, they were having a "Celebrate American Independance Day!" and they played songs with America in them! It was really fun!
Today was awesome! We drove to Blackpool today to have lunch and relax on a beautiful sandy beach, however when we got there, we found no sandy beaches, only cement ones! So we instead sat on stairs, enjoying our lunch and watching the Irish Sea. Not quite what we had planned, but it was nice!
We then went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which is a large amusement park. Sarah, Cassie, Kim and Lisa went on a ride called "The Big One". I was the bag girl who people watched on the bottom! I am being adventurous...but not quite that adventurous!
After the park, we walked around Blackpool. The whole town reminded me of a cross between a carnival and the Wisconsin Dells. There were carnival games everywhere with people shouting at you to come and play and a million little shops full of cheap souvenirs.
We had a traditional supper of fish and chips, okay, Sarah had a traditional supper of fish and chips and the rest of us just sampled it! It was okay, but you know me and seafood...
Tomorrow is our last full day in Warrington. It will be sad to leave Lisa, but I am excited to see everything that lies ahead!
I hope all is well at home!
I love and miss you all!
xx Tanya
