Hello!! We just got back from Scotland!! We had the greatest day ever!! It is a 4 hour drive, but we decided to make the trip all in one day because we really only wanted to see the Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile.
We left at around 6:30 this morning and the drive was amazing! There were rolling hills, sheep and cows every where! Everything was so green, I did not realize how green land could be!!
We arrived in Edinburgh around 10:30 and went to the Edinburgh Castle and it was so cool! We walked around there for about 3 hours, exploring all the nooks and crannies of a castle from the 1600's! We saw a changing of the guard ceremony and we even saw a lady get screamed at by a guard because she got too close! It was very intimidating!!
We then walked down the Royal Mile
I also tried to find truth in the men's kilt rumor, but did not have much luck. I guess the mystery continues....
We tried to get supper at an authentic Scottish resturant, but it turns out it was an American as it could be! Strike one for us. But we did each try Scottish Eggs (which were not that great!). So I am being adventurous in my tasting adventures!!
I hope you are all well! I miss and love you lots!
Smiles,
Tanya

. It is an old part of town that has the original buildings and structures, so it is very cool to see! There were street performers all over and they were so much fun to see. While we were walking, we kept seeing ladies in fancy dresses and men in kilts. We followed them to the Queen's Palace where she was hosting a Garden Party! We walked around the gates of the Palace, trying to catch a glimpse of the Queen to no avail. We decided to scale a hillside to see if we could see her and we saw inside the gates and saw the Queen!! (Side Note: We saw someone who could have been the Queen, but we were way up on the hillside and it was very hard to see, but we decided that we would go home telling people that we saw the Queen because it sounds way cooler than saying that we didn't.) I also tried to find truth in the men's kilt rumor, but did not have much luck. I guess the mystery continues....
