Our physically most demanding day absolutely was this one :D We were hiking a 10-kilometer-route in the Grand Canyon. The views were spectacular! For me it was quite different that I had expected beforehand. The path was quite narrow and there were no safety fences at all. So you really had to concentrate where to step! The first part, going downhill, was almost effortless activity, even though you could feel your thighs shaking a bit.... Also, I started to feel dizzy every time I looked down in the canyon. But that was probably just me...

When coming up the same route I didn't question anymore the meaning of various signs making sure that everyone takes enough water with them. I and Onni had almost 7 litres of water and we consumed all of it during the hike. It wasn’t even really hot (around 25 ⁰ Celsius, could have been over 40⁰) and still was hard to get up.  Apparently around 250 people every year have to be rescued from the canyon, and the stories of young people who have died there were quite terrifying.

I sure don’t consider myself as a fit person anymore...

After the exercise we drove to a near-by-city called Flagstaff, found a motel, had shower, had dinner and fell asleep.
