Day 9 – Mission Blue Ridge Pkwy: Accomplishe
Trip Start May 21, 2010
51Trip End Jul 10, 2010
While American citizens were enjoying their Memorial weekend's Saturday we were passing hundreds of miles and moving on. Three days we spent driving through the winding roads of Appalachian Mountains. The scenery was more and more beautiful as we were getting towards south. I noticed that the whole group was finding the mountains as a boring thing at the end of the 475-mile-road...enough is enough. On the last day on this scenic drive we visited the America’s highest point on the east side of Mississippi River, Mt. Mitchell. At the end of the BRPkwy we stopped by to Asheville, NC, which was one of the positive highlights on the road so far. At first glance it was a small city with plenty of ultimate hipsters, interesting independent boutiques and organic restaurants...worth of visiting! If Asheville was one of our favourites the Cherokee Indian Reservation wasn’t. If you like to visit the Santa Claus Land in Cherokee village where you can explore some wild animals as a side dish on summer time, go ahead!
