This place is beautiful - looks like you are on another planet (the moon maybe?). We are staying in the park campground at Cedar Pass with no hookups but the views are awesome.  The campground is big and without trees so access is easy.  Mostly tent campers here if at all.  It came a huge thunderstorm our first night here winds to 50 kts and tornado watches.  The dogs were scared.
Lots of prehistoric creatures roamed this area about 45 million years ago and it's now a paleontologist heaven.  The Indian tribe that owns the southern half of the park is called Lakota.  They were led by Bigfoot and were the ones in the battle at Wounded knee 60 miles or so southwest of here.  They have great indian tacos made with fried indian bread and buffalo meat - yum!

Other than the park there really is NOTHING here. The "town" of Interior consists of one gas station, 2 bars and an Indian owned small grocery/liquor store.. It is peaceful for sure.
