We arrived here at the Eagle Canyon campground on Monday afternoon after driving in heavy rain for about 150 miles. As we made the turn off the main highway we spotted a black bear who posed for a picture (see the first one).   The campground area is beautiful but soggy! The rock here is really red and sticks to everything including doggy paws.  Also the weather changes literally every 30 minutes from hot to cool to thunderstorms.  The only constant is the mosqitoes and giant biting flies.

Here at the "resort" they have a big gorge with a river running thru it.  They have constructed 2 suspension bridges over the gorge connected by a big loop hiking trail.  One of the bridges is the longest suspension bridge in Canada.  The scenery is great and we were able to park the RV's right on the edge of the canyon on the little river.  The place has been mostly almost deserted since we arrived except for the people who stop just to do the tour of the suspension bridges.  We stayed here so that we could also see nearby Ouimet Canyon (grand canyon of Canada?) and a local amythest mine.

Our plans are to leave for Thunder Bay Friday and spend the weekend seeing the sights there with a possible fishing charter on Lake Superior (salmon and trout).

Hope you enjoy the pics!
