Ok so let me premise this enrty by first stating that I love Australia. It is my home and I would never want to live anywhere else... expect maybe New York City...

So our last entry had us in Mexico. We were scheduled to fly out of Mexico City on the 22nd of December at 1pm, to arrive in New York at approx 10 that evening. To cut a long story short, American Airlines are a bunch of incompetant twits and we didnt make it to NY until 5.30pm on the 23rd of December - an hour and a half before our Broadway show began - and John was minus one 25kg backpack. note, this arrived later that evening via courier.
Although John attended in the clothes he had been wearing for the last two and half days, the Lion King was just amazing. Absoultely spectacular. The best present ever Bree. Thank You.
After the show, we were so pumped - times square has that affect on you - that we decided to go to a comedy show. It was pretty funny, and nice way to end a rough couple of days that had preluded it. Although it was not quite as enteraining as the one we attended a few days later at the comedy cellar in Greenwhich Village. We paid 15 bucks to get in and were expecting to see s or č pretty good comedians. Ones John had heard of and seen on tv. We got sat right in the front row, which seemed like a pretty unlucky place to be sat, until the emcee advises us that "you may recognise your next comedian from the Dave Schapelle show, its Dave Schapelle everybody". I thought JOhns head was going to explode. He just rocked up and gave an hour and half impromtu gig. It was hillarious. Best 15 bucks!!

Christmas Eve consisted of us walking round, wide mouthed looking at things and taking pictures. We had a walk through central park and along fifth avenue. Poor John had to put up with my frequent Sex and the City referrences and my constant complaining "that i have never been this cold in my entire life",  he is a very patient man.
We took advantage of the fact that all the new release blockbuster movies come out on Christmas day, and spent it inside, in the warmth of a cinema complex, having a movie marathon. We watched īn total, during our stay in the Big Apple, 6 movies. Our hotel was less than a block from a 4 storey movie theatre.

We did do all the obligatory tourist things. Empire state building (well if walking there 4 times and being told each time that there would be at least a 2 and a half hour wait and deciding to go elsewhere counts?), Rockerfella Centre Christmas tree, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Wall street, Ground Zero (which is a huge construction site these days), tours of uptown, downtown, Brooklyn, the post Christmas sale shopping, the Dakota where Lennon was shot, the Sarah Jessica Parker house stalking... you know the usual. It really is the city that never sleeps.

One night when we were walking home to our hotel (which really was a shit hole as we had predicted), we walked passed a man that unfortunately we BOTH recognised. Me, because I addicted to his website, and John because I am addicted to his website. I saw Perez Hilton, and I was too embarassed to ask him for a photo. John dragged me up to him like a giggling schoolgirl and made me ask for a photo. I was smiling for the next few hours, ear to ear.

By New Years, the luster of Times Square had worn off and we just wanted to get out, so we went to a bar in the east village to celebrate. Luckily we did, because there were hundreds of thousands of people still trying to get home when we got a taxi back to the hotel at 3am. Poor tourists haha

The day that we left, my brother had bought us a tour to "taste new york" and that we did. We ate our way across the villages. Pizza, cheese, cookies. The food in NY is fantastic. That may be why we both put on so much weight while we were there...

We are in the Czech Republic at the moment, about to commence our Europe leg of the tour. This has resulted in a new influx of "I have never been this cold in my entire life" comments. John really is a patient man.
