Well, Halloween is nearly upon us, and I am looking forward to introducing a couple hundred kids to it this year. Should be a lot of fun. On the other hand, it reminds me of costume parties back home, and makes me miss it. Sounds like the students are pretty excited about dressing up for a day of school though, so it might be pretty fun. Nothing really notable has happened since we rode our bikes to Tongli last weekend. I did book my trip to SE Asia which is cool, but it is already apparent that I am going to want so much more time down there. I bit the bullet and booked a flight from Siem Reap in Cambodia to Krabi in Thailand to save some valuable time once I'm down there, but it just won't feel the same as riding in cramped buses and taking trains, etc. Totally worth not having to waste a couple days getting from point A to point B though. Looks like it will be about a week in Cambodia and a week in Southern Thailand. Could be worse!

My principal Greg got hooked up with some tickets to an LPGA tournament coming up this weekend at Taihu Lake Golf Course. That should be interesting. Not sure who is playing yet, but I guess Annika Sorenstam was there last year. Tiger woods will be at a tournament in Shanghai the following weekend but not sure if I wil be able to get tickets for that one. After the golf tournament weekends I think I will head to Nanjing for a weekend to check it out (was supposed to go last weekend but things didn't work out).

I have been covering for an injured teacher's Physics class the last couple weeks at the expense of my PE class. At first it appeared that it might be for the entire remainder of the semester, but now it looks like he might be back in a couple weeks so that is great news.

The weather here is still pretty nice, although the evenings are starting to develop a chill to them. The entire month of October has been fabulous though, and most days we are still getting into the mid twenties for temperature. Lovin' it. Sounds like it starts to get colder later into November though. To finish this email, I will make a list of some notable incidents and observations I have seen or made lately regarding China.

1) When people need to poop, they poop.
2) Bubble tea is the best thing since sliced bread
3) Rules are made to be broken
4) Guys like to grow long fingernails
5)  Nobody gives a shit how awesome the Flames are doing

Talk to yall soon. Would love to hear from some of you. Let me know what you are up to!

Update: Well Halloween was a lot of fun, the students really went nuts on the costumes in some cases. A few boys actually rented costumes from the internet that are worth nearly $1000! Crazy. Anyway, here are a couple videos of my principal's reaction to me dressing up as him, and some pictures of the costumes from Halloween and the Halloween dance.
