Distance to the Next Border in Illinois - 132 miles
Distance to the Pacific Ocean (San Francisco): 2295
It's been another 28 miles in the running log.
The weather is colder and wetter and I've been more sporadic about running though this past week has been a good week despite all that.
I got a bitchin new set of shoes. They are the New York Orange New Balance 990's for the NYC Marathon. Maybe I can't crack entry into the NYC Marathon but I sure can buy the shoes
From the City of New Castle Website:
New Castle is the home of the largest high school
gymnasium in the world and has produced many basketball stars including
College All-American and NBA players Kent Benson and Steve Alford. The
city tree is the Golden Raintree, based on The Legend of the Raintree:
"Legendary Johnny Appleseed, wandered the Midwest carrying among his
apple seeds a single, exotic seed from the golden raintree. Looking for
a place where it would flourish and grow, he planted it somewhere in
Henry County. Legend has it that those who find the raintree discover
the realization of all dreams." From the historical novel and movie,
