via Hamilton and Te Kuiti, nice coastal road from Awakino to WhiteCliffs. New Plymouth is ok. Stayed at Mangorei. Early morning rise to climb the Taranaki. Very heavy. 4,5 hours to ascent; 3,5 to descent. Last couple of hundred meters to the top only loose stones and ice. Summited with Johanneke from Utrecht Holland and Johnny from Israel. Back at sunset 18:00. Leg muscles totally wasted.
